As each new year begins most of us make hopeful resolutions with a renewed sense of optimism for the coming year. In that moment we honestly believe that anything’s possible and celebrate our dreams with feelings of elation. These vows are usually forgotten all too soon in the hectic pace of our pandemic shaken lives. These promises, and vows are usually forgotten and make us feel uneasy. We tell ourselves that “life gets in the way”, our dreams fade further, and opportunities pass us by. Life has given all of us many obstacles and challenges over the last couple of years but how we choose to meet these challenges is how we create the lives we desire and deserve.

The biggest obstacle to make our lives better often lies within us in a cycle of negative and self-defeating thoughts and emotions. When we can focus on being our being best in all circumstances, we can develop the self-mastery and confidence needed to break these self-created feelings to get the most out of our lives and feel happier!

As The Happiness Warrior, I’ve always believed that consciously choosing to be my best is the only way to move forward when the world feels at odds and upside-down. It’s this belief that helps pick me up and take control of my life when things get hard. I know innately that the only thing I can do to make my world better is when I’m consciously doing my best at every task in front of me. Self-discipline is needed in everything we do and relying on ourselves and understanding our powers helps us to thrive and be our best when others need us. This helps to create an energy field where we can feel resilient, capable, and open to change. When we believe that we can be our best we grow, increase our feelings of self-mastery, and learn to love who we are.

Being my best is the foundation for all five of my Happiness Warrior Core values and my personal guide to navigating through life in a world that often seems out of balance and chaotic. With this mindset we can make the best of ourselves and use our skills to achieve our goals and keep our lives in forward motion. We can live in the present without fear with the knowledge that only we can hold ourselves accountable.

It’s easier to be better when we believe in ourselves and are unafraid to be vulnerable and reveal our true nature. When we’re authentic versions of ourselves our instinct and decisions become stronger. We can then accomplish more and understand our strengths and limitations. When we try to be better every day, we’re creating the lives we desire which creates the intention needed to take action to make our dream lives come true. People who believe in themselves create magic and purpose wherever they go!

We don’t need to be better than anyone else, we just need to learn the value that comes from being the best for ourselves without the need for external validation. Fear of being ourselves is often the only barrier to creating belief in our true and authentic selves. Understanding that fear is self-imposed is a great moment in anyone’s life.

APPLYING WISDOM

Wisdom is always with us and becomes alive and vibrant as soon as we remove negative self-created thoughts and barriers to our happiness. Often our biggest hold up to real progress in our lives is just a matter of giving ourselves permission to be authentic and “real”.

Wisdom is something that’s continually rediscovered within us to be recalled and used to benefit our lives. Wisdom grows and becomes our guide as we navigate through all stages of life.

TRAINING OUR MINDS TO EXCEL

I’ve always thought that self-discipline as the greatest values that provides the most benefit to our lives. When we create self-discipline, we’re able to break through periods where we might feel blocked to help us overcome barriers and forge ahead. Nothing creates more self-esteem than the value that comes from a disciplined mindset.  To create a more disciplined life with life-affirming systems the following skills are essential:

-Stamina: To achieve our goals, we must have stamina to go the distance that we need to change our lives. Stamina is created when we believe in ourselves and understand that it helps to hone our skills and prepare our minds for success and learning.

-Discipline: Self-discipline can be both innate and learned. The only way to act and continue our plans through fruition is to develop a strong inner sense of the self-discipline needed to create a strong belief in ourselves and our desires.

-Daily routines/habits: Establishing easy and life-affirming daily habits is essential for happiness and fulfillment of our goals and vision.

-Identify negative self-defeating thoughts and words: Words have spirit and once they’ve been thought or said aloud, they will remain with us forever. Stop using harmful words that bring you down and replace with positive life-affirming and truthful expressions.

-Remove negative people from your life: As the Happiness Warrior, I can’t emphasize this enough. We are the company that we keep!

-Keep promises to yourself: Learn how capable you are by taking the action needed to make your dreams come true. There is no such thing as failure when we’re trying, learning, and growing.

VIRTUE IS OUR HIGHER POWER

Developing a personal set of core values is a way to create a life where virtue is the focus of all our thoughts and actions. Doing the right thing for the greater good is a powerful rule to live by. It helps us provide value in our actions and creates a life-time sense of purpose and gratitude. Happy people silently lead virtuous lives as identified in their actions rather than empty words and promises.  Virtuous people have an overwhelming need to try to make the world a better place. These thoughts shape our emotions and feelings. When we have a virtuous thought, we are happier and feel more connected with the power of the universe. External events are unimportant and not worth our energy. External events are only important when we react and give them value. A great exercise is to write down the virtues that are most important to you and what you most admire in others.

Thinking about these qualities that you most admire is an easy way to clarify and create our own core values.

UNDERSTANDING SELF MASTERY

Self-Mastery is the process of living and working purposefully towards a vision, in alignment with our core values and in a state of constant learning about ourselves and the reality in which we exist. Self-Mastery is a lifelong process that helps us continually grow and adapt to our present circumstances. When we create self-mastery, we are always open to change.

CREATING A MORNING ROUTINE

Applying systems to make our lives better and help us achieve our dreams is the primary step in creating a life where we can be better every day. Waking up and telling yourself that it’s going to be a “great day” is a powerful affirmation that can create the life we yearn for. Our purpose in life is further defined and aligned with our values when we create a happier and life-affirming mindset to make it happen. Our vibration rises and we consciously realize how our actions can help others and give us more purpose. Every day is an opportunity to be better than the last!

BEING BETTER MAKES US HAPPIER AND FIND MEANING

Becoming better might be seen as a superficial act to some of us but the reality is that we’re being our best to take control of our own lives and live in our truth. When we’re proud of our efforts and ignore our critics, we can learn to stand strong and take pride in our actions. Vibration rises and others are attracted to our energy and personal strength.

-Every day is an opportunity to reinvent our lives and start a new beginning

-Every day we have an opportunity to be better

-Every day gives us an opportunity to change our lives and align ourselves with our core beliefs and values.

We can all be our own Happiness Warriors. Never stop learning and remember that change comes when your inner warrior is ready. Be prepared and the time will come for you to rise and be happier.

When we’re our best every day, when we’re ready for anything that life offers us. Being our best makes us stronger and creates a mindset for a more magical, happier, and purposeful life.
