SINGER/SONGWRITER DARRELL KELLEY RELEASES “POLICE BRUTALITY”
- Written by Darrell Kelley
Police brutality Has to stop in America His name was George Floyd. Imagine being pressed down onto concrete with a solid 200 lbs sitting directly on your neck.
This man begged for his life. This unarmed black man begged for water, and for mercy.
Once he realized he was slowly being killed, he called out for his deceased mom. His nose bled and he lost control of his bladder. Yet he remained trapped under the weight of the officer’s knee, in handcuffs crying because he could not breathe.
Onlookers tried to intervene only to be threatened with pepper spray. Then he lost consciousness. The weight of that knee stayed firm while a first responder demanded they check for a pulse. They refused. The weight stayed on his neck. Off duty medical personnel begged for the officer to get up.
We watched a man being killed. For 10 agonizing minutes. Imagine dying that way.
America needs to come together because together we can make a difference by standing up to Racist police and Police brutality.
George Floyd and others like him (Ahmaud Avery) did not have to die. Thousands of people in cities across the USA are now putting their lives at risk in protest of police brutality, due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are America and we can do better. Our POTUS called the protesters "thugs" and even mentioned they need to be shot for "looting". hose words are incendiary and inappropriate at this bleak time in history.
There has never been a POTUS to make such statements . Burning fires, looting and causing injury to people are not the ways of a peaceful protest. Standing together, marching together and united together with all races is the way to get justice.
I stand for justice, but I will not stand for Ignorance And I need you to help me fight this fight.
